Ready for some general outbursts and a rant? Me neither, but here it comes...
Snow has arrived to Historic Warren County. No more drying wands outdoors, and fewer wand photos taken in daylight. We've experimented with photo light box work, but it does not serve our needs.
Our photos represent recent work completed for clients, and the wands do want to be remembered. We are working on a way to capture excellent images indoors, but we're not quite there yet. This also affects the process of adding new crystal grid kits to the shop, as there's no point in creating grids if we cannot list them featuring proper photographs. Our little cottage is simply too dark in the fall and winter months. Super sigh.
For those of you waiting for the botanical crowns listing, we cannot offer the crowns until we've caught up on retail orders for smudge wands. With the growing popularity of ten and fifteen packs, your smudge maker tires. Each bundle requires extensive energy work, and the larger orders cause for delay in new projects.
You may notice slightly slower than normal response to messages, across all methods of communication. During the wand making process a meditative or trance like state is required. Coming out of such states can be draining, especially if there are many interruptions. To bring balance to this situation we are no longer using certain devices, allowing for checking messages at a much slower pace.

In the Etsy shop. There are three places to find helpful information in our shop. Shop Updates, located at the Shop Announcement near top of page. In listings' descriptions. In our listings under or past Reviews there is additional shop information, such as a description of The Sage Cottage, and FAQs.
Most messages are to ask if we offer bulk listings. Yes, we offer five, ten and fifteen packs which are priced for resale. Many messages are to ask if we will copy a wand from a photo. No, we will not. We work with seasonally available botanicals, and each wand is unique, in direct response to the vortex data of the wand's user gathered during meditation before and during bundling. Some messages are asking for a faster ship. Trust us, we are working as quickly as possible. We cannot create a quality product or useful service if hurried.

There is a good chance that we may be leaving eBay and Etsy in the future. Any changes will be announced here on our blog.
Now, the rant...
It is extremely difficult to express in listings what exactly clients receive when purchasing smudge wands from us. We are a small family, offering energy work and all natural botanicals. Our smudge wands are burnable works of art, a wonderful way to celebrate impermanence. We attempt to update listings each year, to better express what buyers may expect. The healing arts are based in energy work, and that can be a bit difficult to put into words. Please send us your questions! As we receive your messages we can build stronger FAQs, and formulate appropriate explanations of services provided in listings. Our focus is always on happy and healthy gardens, and in offering tools to balance chi. We do not have the time necessary to "market" our services, and sadly that does show in listings.
GENERAL SHOP UPDATES FOR DECEMBER (Also shared in our Etsy Shop Announcement)
We’ve updated our shipping times in preparation for continued higher than normal sales volume. Single wand orders are bundled immediately and ship right away. Orders placed before 12/11 will arrive in time for the holidays. Orders placed after 12/11 may be affected by seasonally slow mail, and may not arrive in time. We suggest that anyone in a hurry please purchase single wands, as the five, ten and fifteen packs take a very long time to bundle.
We ask that you allow us some wiggle room regarding certain botanicals which struggle to grow during cold months. Sweetgrass, meadowsweet, hibiscus, lemongrass, yarrow, patchouli and chamomile must be used sparingly at this time.
We are a family. We work very hard to offer this sacred service to our clients. Our plants are part of our family. They require time to grow and time to deal with seasonal changes. This is reflected in our shipping and processing time for each listing.
Retailers asking for a faster ship time, or for their order to be made before others, affects the flow of our work. There is preparation involved, and we cannot break that cycle.
We create smudge wands as orders are received. We do not offer pre-made bundles at this time.
Please do not send us photos of our work, or of the work of another artist, or photos from Pinterest. We do not copy the work of others, and we cannot recreate our own artistic expressions from healing wands bundled for a previous order. Each wand is unique and it reflects the person who will make use of its healing chi.
The completed wands reflect the needs of the persons who will burn them. Selecting a blend, Popular Wands, Custom Wands, or Intuitive Wands may help to create the general style and to select some or all of the botanicals bundled, but intense energy work, meditation and connection with Source or Spirit is part of our process.
We share photos of recent orders so that clients may view the general colors and styles of the season. In example, spring through summer is always a time of bright blooms. Fall and winter blooms will be of a different nature.
These are strange times we are in, and we experience them together as one. As the energy or chi moves in and out of balance, The Sage Cottage provides solutions and tools for empowerment. You may notice we are bundling more Larkspur, Knotweed and Indian Sage than usual. There is a purpose for this, as the times do call for more balance and additional protection from very odd energies.
