Clients find us by searching online shops or forums for smudge, or they hear about The Sage Cottage by word of mouth. We are well known for our exorcism work.
Our unique smudge bundling service is very special, and of course is unlike any other. We grow and nurture our all natural and non GMO botanicals. We practice energy work on our gardens, on our gardens' crystals, on our space, on our smudge wands, and on our smudge wands' crystals. Spirit vortex energy work is conducted to achieve the best and most practical plant based solutions for our clients' specific needs. A trance-like state is necessary (per my own guides!) for interfacing with Source or Spirit during the bundling process. Vibrational Transfer is practiced to empower wand users, and to protect our wands and our crystals from any other energetic forces which may be present as bundles travel through the mail and into a fast paced world.

As your wand maker and as a seasoned energetic healer I understand how confusing it can be to remember years of having things a certain way, then seemingly over night the situation changes. I would like to clarify the reasons for this change.
Only a couple of years ago life was very different for us. Though we received orders daily, I was then able to complete requests immediately and bundle much more quickly. We managed many retailers' requests, but most were local and for under 100 wands. We did not grow such a broad variety of herbs for spiritual smudging, and there was less of a need for the lightwork I now conduct. Our world has changed and we must keep up.
The Sage Cottage expanded to offer smudge bundling across many online forums and social communities. We receive requests from numerous venues. This amount of volume requires the perfect balance of garden harvesting and plant growth to support bundling, and to meet deadlines. We've updated the estimated wait time for orders and continue to remind retailers that much planning and hard work goes into completing requests. Larger orders will require additional time. To slow incoming requests we must set our Etsy shop to vacation mode while fulfilling complicated orders.
I bundle in small batches. Energy work is extremely draining and I not want to become burnt out. I cannot work 24/7. The Sage Cottage is a family and we need time to live our lives, time to care for our gardens and time to maintain and enjoy our home. We deserve time to experience the world. Wand bundling and energy clearing is a huge priority but without presenting limitations and boundaries, our service will not be sustainable.
Every purchase from The Sage Cottage applies to the cost of our indoor and outdoor gardens, seasonal needs for plant care, emergency expenses due to weather mishaps, and also covers purchases of any crystals which we cannot gather or mine by hand. Our trips to hand select minerals are not inexpensive. Additional materials needed include organic twine, paper, ink, various supplies, shipping boxes, and packaging materials. Prices continue to rise each year. In the past we were able to trade our products for much of the necessary supplies, and any minerals which we could not mine or gather. Each year we find more difficulties in trade agreements, as most individuals want money for their goods during this strange and changing U.S. economy.
We cannot be compared to other artists and other sellers, just as it would be inappropriate to compare other artists and sellers to us. I sense that some retailers think of other wand bundlers' prices when viewing our own. In the smudge making community we all strive to offer effective and pleasing products. Each wand maker gathers materials from different sources. In example, many artists live on the west coast where they enjoy wild harvesting herbs from open areas, free to the public. Some have large farm fields of botanicals to work with. We here at The Sage Cottage have a tiny property full up with plants, which we must grow from seed or start from clippings. When we experience weather emergencies (New Jersey's weather is an absolute nightmare!) and lose plants, we must act fast. There might not be backup plants to work with, and seed starting requires light and warmth which all seasons cannot provide. During these situations we must travel to visit places and people to select high vibrating plants. When there are no other options and we must purchase plant replacements, we pay whatever prices are asked. To replace plants during cold weather seasons means that we travel to a grower who can afford to host plants indoors, and higher prices support their methods.

More recently the way I receive that data has changed, so I have adapted to suit clients' needs. The amount of data now received is quite substantial. In order to protect my own body and aura from taking on the energetic woes of clients, I now work with a wide variety of guides in addition to source or spirit. In addition to that mix there is the "voice" of the plants, and my own herbal medicine knowledge. This is a lot to for me to juggle. To not become overwhelmed by incoming data I choose to limit stimuli. I am picky about what vibrations enter my vortex. I nurture my own vibration and aura so that I may be a useful healer.
I do not have words to express my current process for spirit vortex energy work, as I am still becoming used to the sensations and occurrences. What I do wish to share is the fact that my changing abilities or growing talents cause me to no longer tolerate custom requests. I cannot balance that type of input while working with so much spiritual information. I must be completely free to create exactly what will be most beneficial for wand users.

Here is a situation which happens on occasion ~ A shop wants to sell our wands. They do not read the listings, or view our website, or read our blog. They know nothing about our service, but they have seen photos of our work and want to offer our bundles to their own customers. They might not understand our estimated ship times, or the amount of labor and time required to handcraft their order. This creates chaos. Chaos is an energy which takes many forms in our dimension, and in others! As a healer I have access to all sorts of dimensions, and I feel energy at all times. I "read" energy at all times. If a shop is annoyed because we cannot create a special order for them, or because we cannot work more quickly, or because we cannot bundle a completely different type of product than what we wish to offer, then all of that negative energy is received and then processed to keep it from interacting with that shop's wands. The extra work takes its toll on me, and on my aura. I must avoid being hindered by any lower vibrating energy which presents when clients become confused or perturbed. I attempt to do so by sharing Shop Announcements in our Etsy shop, and by making pertinent information available in listings, and in our blog. Any general or common question which a client may have can be answered immediately simply by reading our listings, or by visiting our website, or by reading our blog posts. When I am busy bundling and I cannot respond to emails, another family member will have to break from their own responsibilities to reply. We want to answer all messages in a timely fashion, and we deeply enjoy assisting clients. We adore our clients! It is optimal for all parties to keep communications light and positive. When I am bundling and must come out of my trance-like state to tackle the inboxes, my replies may be very short or blunt. If this sets a tone it is not intended. I often copy and paste information from our sites in message replies to save my hands from typing out so many words. My hands do tire from gardening and bundling wands. I suffer challenges which make my body very different from most, and I need a lot of rest. At this time I am working very long hours with very little relaxation. Our family wants to make the most of our time spent offering this service, by eliminating any unnecessary tasks.
Though it is not as much of an issue as it was last year, we still receive way too many requests to "copy" wands from photos. We do not copy the work of other artists, and no seasoned wand maker worth their salt will. What artist wants to be a hack?! Not this one. I would never, ever contact a painter and ask that he or she replicate another artist's work, or try to paint something which they created in the past. I also do not wish to copy my own work. I simply cannot recreate wands bundled previously. Seasons change, plants and flowers vary, and I work with source or spirit when bundling. It is impossible to be in a trance-like state and to also recreate a wand from the image of a photo of my work. There are a few retailers who express their desire to not photograph new wands from The Sage Cottage in order to feature an older photograph on their own online listings for The Sage Cottage wands. My recommendation is that retailers describe our products as constantly changing, to adapt to seasons and the energetic needs of wand users.
In the past my blog posts have cleared up concerns or confusion right away. My hope is that this post will help The Sage Cottage to continue offering bulk wand packs for resale. If clients who purchase our bulk packs for retail continue to express negativity regarding our policies on custom order requests, prices, emails, estimated ship times, and preservation of the gardens to promote sustainability, we will be forced to only offer single wands as we did originally many years ago.
